Office IT is a very crucial part of your operation. Without e-mail, the internet or a crucial piece of equipment, your business slows down and could even stop. I can help provide extra office IT support, to ensure any downtime is at a minimum.

If you are looking for extra freelance broadcasting talent then I can offer that required cover. I offer both live and pre-recording services at your premises, or I can record a show (or the links) at my studio and then deliver on time.

History

I started off my radio career on the south coast of England, initially volunteering at my local hospital radio station. My 1st paid gig was at a station called Radio Victory, which after many incarnations is now called "Easy Radio South Coast" owned and operated Nation Broadcasting.

It was during this time that fixing the microphone rather than being in front of it was where I felt my future was heading.

As part of my final year at University I was commissioned to build a radio studio for West-Sussex County Council, which until the media department was made redundant a few years ago, was in daily use. After Graduation I moved to Scotland to start work for the Guardian Media Group (GMG).

Having been part of the Launch Team for Real Radio north of the border, for the next 3 months I relocated to Leeds to assist with the launch of their sister station. After the purchase of QFM and its rebrand to Rock Radio in 2007 I started to combine my technical knowledge along with my presenting abilities and gave birth to an alter ego - Phil McCrackin (AKA - The Krack). Nowadays when Im behind the microphone, The Krack has retired and so I am broadcasting once again as Phil Reed.

In 2013 I became Head Of Broadcast and IT at TeamRock, where I oversaw the building and launch of their national DAB station. During 2016 I set up and now run my own business looking after IT and Radio Broadcast transmissions for various clients.

In 2020 I become involved with Victory Radio as the their Head of Technical, based in Portsmouth, a nostalgic radio station paying homage to the original Radio Victory.

About Me

I have worked in the media industry for over 35 years. Initially working at my local radio station doing what ever I could to help out, from answering the telephones to making the tea. Eventually I was allowed in front of the microphone and since then I have presented and covered all kinds of shows.

Having had a very keen interest in electronics, I decided later in life, around 26, that I would return to University, graduating some years later with an B/ENG in Media and Communications.
